2.4.3 Roles & Permissions

Company Roles

  • Owner
  • Admin
  • Manager
  • Internal User
  • External User
    • These roles are set to give eligible users access to company resources based on user permissions
    • Each user can only have ONE company role

Note: Admin role cannot be edited.

  • Wiki Topic Listings
    • Company Settings
      • General Settings
      • Unit Preferences
      • User Management

 

Switching User's Company Role

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Click on the three dots menu next to the user's name.

 

2. Make necessary changes to user's company role on the dropdown menu.

3. Click "Confirm" to accept changes.

 

Editing Company Role Permissions

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Click the "Edit" button at the top of the Permissions menu.
  2. Make any necessary changes on the Permissions menu.

 

3. Click "Save" to confirm changes.

 

Notes:

  • Company roles are set by the application, and no custom creations are allowed.
  • Admin permissions are NOT editable.

    • These preset roles give users access to resources on specific projects
    • Each user has one project role PER project

Note: Only custom project roles can be edited.

Viewing/Editing Custom Project Roles Permissions

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. To view, click on the Project Roles top navigation menu.
  2. To make changes, click on the "Edit" button at the top right corner.

 

3. Click "Save" to confirm changes.

 

Note: Only Custom Project Roles can be edited.

Creating Custom Project Roles

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. To view, click on the Project Roles top navigation menu.
  2. Click "Create Custom" at the top of the menu.

3. Fill the pop-up box with the name of the title of the project role.

4. Check the box on the pop-up menu that saves changes.

5. Edit desired Role Permissions and proceed.

 

Note: Custom Roles cannot be used in Wiki Topics and will not have the associated permissions.

Editing Custom Role Name

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Click on the three dots menu next to the Custom Project Role name.
  2. Click "Edit name" on the dropdown menu.

 

3. Make any necessary changes on the Project Roles menu.

4. Check the box on the pop-up menu that saves changes.

 

Deleting Custom Project Role

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Click on the three dots menu next to the Custom Project Role name.
  2. Click "Delete" on the dropdown menu.

 

3. Select the role to replace the users with for the running projects.

4. Click "Confirm" to accept changes.

 

5. Click "Yes, Delete Role" to confirm changes.
