A markup is any one of a number of visual items added to a scenario's presentation slides for the purpose of conveying information to viewers. Markups can only be added to presentation slides while editing the slide. Labels, callouts, and measurements are all examples of markups.
Choosing a Slide to Markup
To create markups on a slide first access the slide on which these markups should appear. From the left side toolbar click Presentation & Slides then use the + Add Slide button to create a new slide or select an existing slide, alternatively right click the three dots on a slide and choose Edit Slide. The slide's editor panel will appear on the ride side of the screen. From this editor panel you can select the type of mark up to add.
Adding a Markup Object
From the slide editor side sheet users can set the slide capture angle and create markups. Note: it is highly recommended to set the Capture Angle (1) before creating any markups: Callouts/Labels (2), Distance Measurements (3), Elevation Markers (4), and Section Cuts (5). The side sheet also lists existing markups on the slide (6).
Types of Markup Objects
Capture Angle
-
- Each slide can only have 1 capture angle/view point, which is used by Presentation Mode whether manually cycling through slide or automatically while playing in the presentation player.
- It is recommended to position the view by using your mouse to navigate to a frame of view that includes all features of the interest for the slide, then click Capture Angle (1 above) to save this viewpoint.Ā
Distance Measurements
-
- Minimum Distance reports minimum straight line distance between two objects (not two points).Ā
- Measure Distance reports straight line distance and x/y/z components lengths between two points.
Elevation Markers
-
- Sea Level ElevationĀ reports the elevation relative to sea level of the selected point
- Project Zero ElevationĀ reports the elevation relative to the project zero plane of the selected point
Custom Section
-
- Select from X, Y and Z, the orientation of the section plane. To position the plane, click and drag along the selected axis, you can also use the Flip SectionĀ button to swap which side is hidden.Ā
Callouts/Labels
-
- Callouts are textboxes that "float", with a leader that is anchored to a point in the scenario.Ā
- Labels are textboxes that are projected onto a surface in the scenario.
- Callouts and Labels are the only markup types with settings that are editable after creation.
