The Project Roles page (1) is accessible from within a Project, here you will find a list of all current project roles and any exceptions that have been added for the specific Project. The set of project permissions assigned to each company role can be changed by selecting a Project Role from the drop down (3), the permissions associated with the role will appear in the permissions section (4). Project Role permissions are defined at the company level within Company Settings > Roles and Permissions and cannot be modified from inside a project.
Add User Exception
User exceptions allow for users to have a Project Role (and permissions) assigned to them individually, instead of their Project Role and permissions being based on their assigned Company Role.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Click on Add User Exception (1) button, this will display the Add Exception side sheet.
- From the user selection drop down (2), choose a user (assigned company role is listed to the right).
- From the Role drop down (3) select the Project Role to assign the user, click Add Users (4) to assign.
- Users will Exceptions applied will appear listed in the Project Roles section under their Company Role, click the Role dropdown (5) to assign a different Project Role, the last item in the dropdown is Remove, which will remove the user exception

Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Click on Change to Closed Project button above the Project Roles and Permissions.
- Check pop-up menu box to keep invited users as user exceptions.
- Click Yes, Switch to Closed Project to confirm changes.
💡Note: User exception box is checked by default.
