0.4 Edit Browser GPU Settings

How to enable graphics card for browser.

This guide provides instructions on how to improve browser performance by enabling your computer's graphics processing hardware.

If your computer has a GPU, but your browser is not using it, cmBuilder will perform slowly for you. It is like pedaling an electric bike.

We strongly advises that you activate your GPU for using cmBuilder. (Seriously, though. I told some colleagues here that I turned off my GPU and they got mad at me).

Some signs that you are not using your GPU are:

  • GPU tier is reported as 0, 1, or 2.
  • GPU says "internal" or has "intel" in the name (though there are some intel GPUs, usually it means your GPU is not being used).
  • cmBuilder is slow

For Windows 10

2. Go to System

Ā

  • We recommend using Chrome, but we also support Edge and Safari. Other browsers will also probably work, but have not been tested to the same level.
  • For Chrome: C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application and select chrome.exe.
  • For Edge: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application and select msedge.exe.

Ā

6. Click on Options for your chosen browser.

Ā

7. Don't let windows decide! Choose High performance! Take control of your destiny!

Ā

8. Press Save, and now you can close your settings. If you reload your browser, cmBuilder should now say that you have a different GPU with a higher tier.
