This guide explains how to boost browser performance by making sure your computer’s dedicated graphics card (GPU) is being used, which is especially important for tools like cmBuilder.

Why It Matters

If your browser isn't using your GPU, cmBuilder will run slowly, like pedaling an electric bike with the battery turned off.
We strongly recommend enabling your GPU when using cmBuilder.

Signs That Your GPU Isn’t Being Used

  • cmBuilder shows GPU tier as 0, 1, or 2.
  • GPU name says "internal" or includes "Intel" (Some Intel GPUs are okay, but often this means your dedicated GPU isn’t being used.)
  • cmBuilder feels slow or laggy.
