Generating an Excavation QTO

With the cmBuilder excavation toolkit, you can view quantity take-offs of your excavation broken out by milestones. You also have the option to export the data to a spreadsheet. 

To access the Earth Work Takeoff side sheet:

1. Open the Excavation toolkit by selecting Excavation from the toolbar
2. From the left hand side menu select Excavation plan
3. Click the Earthwork takeoff button

In the right hand side menu that pops up (see image at the top of this page) you have two tabs, where you can view and export a breakdown of your excavation operations:

• Overview: Provides breakdown per milestone. The fields include Milestone, Milestone Date, Compact Volume, and Loose Volume.
• Detailed breakdown: Provides breakdown per excavation operation per milestone. The fields include Milestone, Sequence (Seq), Element, Elevation, Compact Volume, and Loose Volume.

Within the Overview tab, you can adjust your Swell Factor percentage, which controls the increase loose volume relative to compact volume.

You will also find your Total Compact and Loose Volumes in this tab.

Within either tab, click the Export button to export the table as a csv.
