This guide covers how to use the Manual Scale tool to scale your drawing according to specified scale values.
How Manual Scale Works

-
Upload a Drawing
- Click "Project Setup" → "Drawing overlay" → "Upload File" and your drawing will load in the scene with the side sheet open.
- If you already have a drawing in scene, right click on the drawing and click "Edit" and side sheet will appear.
- Locate the Drawing Scale:
- The drawing scale may be found in the title block, in the center below the drawing, or in one of the corners.
- Most drawings have a scale on each page (example below), often represented as 1:100 or 1"=10'.
- Note that some drawings may not have a scale.
- Choosing the Scaling Method:
- If the drawing has a scale, you can continue on with this process.
- Otherwise, it is recommended to use either Align & Position or Scale by Distance.

Click on the "Manual Scale" option from the toolbar.

After locating the scale in your drawing legend, click on the scale dropdown to pick a ratio from the predefined list.
- If the ratio you are looking for is not available, choose Custom and proceed to the next step.
- đź’ˇTIP: Imperial or Metric values will be available based on your "User Setting" units.
Â
-
If using Custom, enter the two values for your scale ratio in the boxes provided.
- You can convert the values into your current units by typing in the units. For example, if your units are in inches, typing "10 ft" will convert the value automatically to 120 inches for you.
- đź’ˇTIP: The result will be more accurate if you use the smaller unit as your default units in User Setting (to remove rounding errors).
đź’ˇTIP: You can use the width/height inputs to scale your drawings if you prefer that method.
