10.3 Export Captured View Image

The Capture View feature in cmBuilder exports a high quality image of the Scenario "as-seen" on screen at the current time. It is an alternative to manually capturing a screenshot using the snipping tool, snag-it or something similar, all of which capture a lower quality image, determined by your screen resolution.

💡Note: Premium and Enterprise subscriptions also offer the Enhance with AI added functionality. 

How to use Capture View

To export the current Scenario view:

1. Click the Export/Share button (1) in the upper-right corner of the Scenario.
2. In the Sidesheet, click the Capture View (2).

3. The Export current view side sheet opens. Select an export option:
   • PNG (3)— Exports the current view as a PNG image.
   • Enhance with AI (4)— Enhances the current view using AI. This option is available with Premium and Enterprise subscriptions. For more information, see the Enhance with AI user guide article.
   • PDF (5)— Exports the current view as a PDF file.

4. For PNG exports, adjust the Screenshot quality slider (6). The available range is from Screen resolution to Max (16k), with Med/High (4k) recommended. (4k resolution exceeds what most monitors can display.)
5. Select Include Google attribution (7) if Google attribution should be included in the exported image.
6. Select Stream to file (8) to stream the export directly to a file on disk. This uses less memory for large exports.
7. Click the Export button (9) to download the image.

💡 Note: The available image quality settings depend on the selected export format.
