Step-by-Step

💡 Note: This is article focus on the visualization of an existing simulation. For instructions on how to build a simulation in cmBuilder refer to Welcome to cmBuilder article.

Initial Visualization

Once your simulation is created, follow these articles to create a presentation: Create a Presentation. The presentation will have a set of slides with saved camera angles showing the different steps of your sequence connected to your milestones.

Here are the steps to export a view of your construction presentation limited a specific time frame. In this example we will use a 4-week look but it can be created within any time frame as long as it matches the milestone periods you created.

Using a Live Link

  1. Click on Export/Share
  2. Click on Share Live Link
  3. Select Milestone Presentation Mode
  4. Define the first and last milestone limits of your presentation
  5. Click on Generate link

Using a Video

To build a look ahead video, first define which milestones and slide will be visible in the presentation timeline by hiding/showing them on your Presentation & Markup menu:

These should include the desired time frame and will set the visible stages at your video export for which you can use these instructions: Exporting Videos.

Creating Follow up Views

If there was no change in your schedule, you can follow the same steps as above to create your Look Ahead View but choosing a different time frame.

If your schedule has changed, follow these steps:

  1. Duplicate your scenario to keep the original report - Creating a ScenarioDuplicate scenario.png
  2. Automatically sync your schedule on the new scenario if it is connected with a file (Schedule Sync) or manually update it if it is not.
  3. Execute the export instructions above for the new scenario.
